As a growing B2B business with a reputation for speed, service, and reliability, Burch Bottle required a scalable digital commerce platform that could support complex workflows, handle real-time tax calculations, and integrate seamlessly with NetSuite. With their SuiteCommerce Advanced (SCA) license nearing expiration, the team partnered with Folio3 to migrate to BigCommerce Enterprise, realizing better performance, customization, and cost savings.
Burch Bottle’s legacy setup on NetSuite SCA was costly and restrictive. The team needed a flexible B2B platform that could handle tax exemptions, custom checkout logic, and historical data, none of which were natively supported.
NetSuite SCA came with high operational costs that no longer aligned with the company’s growth and digital strategy.
BigCommerce didn’t support pickup date selection or automatic address changes for pickups. Folio3 added a calendar for choosing business-day pickups and ensured the shipping address updates to the pickup location. This fixed tax calculation issues and improved the B2B checkout experience.
The business exclusively serves B2B customers and requires a gated registration process and a buyer portal customized for tax handling and integration with NetSuite.
With more than 100,000 historical orders, customer records, and invoices, Burch Bottle needed an end-to-end migration and syncing solution to preserve critical business history.
B2B customers were receiving invoices directly from NetSuite ERP. However, when accessing the My Account section on the BigCommerce storefront, they encountered a different version of the invoice, creating confusion and inconsistency in their experience.

We ensured a smooth migration from NetSuite eCommerce SCA to BigCommerce before the license expired. This strategic move resulted in long-term cost savings and gave Burch Bottle access to a modern, extensible eCommerce platform.

Folio3’s built-in connector solution was implemented to integrate BigCommerce with NetSuite, automating workflows for products, orders, invoices, and customers to help reduce operational costs. The connector was further customized to support syncing tax exemption flags for companies, as well as tailored order edit and export workflows.

We customized the checkout process so that when a buyer selects "Customer Pickup," the shipping address automatically switches to their company address, ensuring correct tax calculation and logistics handling.

We developed a custom registration experience to screen and onboard only B2B buyers. Once approved, customers get access to a personalized buyer portal that reflects tax-exempt status and pulls order data from NetSuite in real time.

We introduced dynamic messages to the cart page that notify users when required or related products are missing. A custom-related products section was also added to drive upsells and ensure complete orders.

We delivered a custom middleware that powered the successful migration of over 100K orders, along with associated customers, shipments, and invoices, validated for accuracy and continuity across systems.

We solved this by integrating the Folio3 NetSuite Connector with BigCommerce's External PDF URL attribute for invoices. A custom middleware stores invoice PDFs from NetSuite in AWS S3 and updates the URL in BigCommerce. This ensures customers can access the same invoice PDF in their BigCommerce account as the one sent from NetSuite.
